Wildland
A JOURNEY TO THE EARTH’S LAST WILDS
Four Years. Seven Continents.
Wild Land is an unprecedented quest to document and preserve our planet’s last remaining wilderness.
The earth in its natural state, existing by its own device – a land so wide that it reduces us to humility, its scope too vast
for us to hold as a single entity in our minds.
Wildocean
a journey to the earth’s last wild coasts
Four Years. Five Oceans.
Wild Ocean is an exploration of dynamic coastal and island habitats, where ocean meets land, and an intricate and complex web of magnificent natural life still exists. It highlights what humanity stands to lose on our path of over utilisation by showing the astonishing beauty of what, for now, is alive and thriving.
AFRICAN
WildLife
A lifetime in the wilds of Africa has inspired the Pickfords’ regard for the intrinsic value of wilderness and wildlife. It is the repository of a wisdom greater than our own, deduced from more time than we can comprehend. Wilderness is irreplaceable and therefore more precious than anything we would take from it.
peter & beverly pickford
Born and educated in Africa, Peter and Beverly Pickford are committed conservationists, and inveterate travellers and explorers, always eager to know what lies beyond the next horizon.
Although their work takes them all over the world, the continent of Africa remains Peter and Beverly’s home. They have created two nature reserves in their own right: purchasing land, exorcising all exotic influence to return it to its pristine state, and then ensuring its legal protection into the future. When not on assignment or working with conservation NGOs, they live in one of these reserves on the West Coast of South Africa, surfing, hiking and kayaking in the company of the thousands of seabirds and seals they have helped to protect.
